In his current role as Senior Director, Americas HR Operations and Service Delivery, Becton Dickinson & Co (BD), Mitch empowers a staff of more than 100 remote employees responsible for delivering human resources support and services to all BD associates for the Americas region, which comprises 11 countries and more than 60 percent of the BD global associate population. Mitch directs and manages hire-to-retire human resources services within a complex organization for the region and leads the effective management of top-tier customer support, data operations and various other human resource systems, and operational support for benefits administration, talent management, talent acquisition, compensation and global mobility. His responsibilities also include payroll and recruitment of a team highly competent, diverse leaders and associates with customer-centric orientation.
As VP for Human Resources at multinational oil and gas company BP, Mitch led ongoing operations and transformation initiatives in the company’s Western Hemisphere, BP’s largest operating area with an employee population of more than 30,000. He led a team of over a hundred people in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and Brazil, optimizing relationships with outsourced service providers, managing an operating and investment budget of $39 million and overseeing an annual payroll in excess of $5 billion. He directed the first successful implementation of the future insourced operating model for BP’s Brazilian human resources operations, leveraging a fully integrated payroll solution for all Brazilian workers nearly two years ahead of schedule by implementing updated technologies.
After BP, Mitch’s leadership and business abilities were proven while at Avenue 360 Health and Wellness. Initially hired to transform and upgrade human resources for the Houston-based health care system, Mitch was asked to become Executive Vice President for Business Operations and then interim CEO during a crucial transition period. Reporting to the Board of Directors, he spearheaded overall management of the agency during a transformative process that produced a significant increase in employee productivity and satisfaction. Mitch oversaw all operational and developmental activities, served as internal and external spokesperson for the agency, and was accountable for all contracts and grants awarded while operating the federally qualified healthcare center.
Mitch is married with two children, and holds a Master of Business Administration degree with Human Resources Management Specialization from Capella University, Minn., and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the College of Charleston, Charleston, SC
